Berry Bonanza

Veronica and Andrea went on their annual excursion to Silvan to pick their Christmas berries. Veronica is finally keeping her promise to a nameless print producer by handpicking the berries that will make up his very own summer pudding. Unable to keep the excursion a secret, the little boots had to come along too ...

Champagne spiders hit the right spot

It truly is the silly season at present and MissBossyBoots got into the Christmas spirit by having a spontaneous Champagne breakfast with a difference.... Champagne Spiders. These delectable drinks were consumed by everyone on our balcony at 9.30am. It was also a good time to celebrate Jesper's birthday. A champagne spider is champagne poured over strawberry sorbet (lemon sorbet is good too). Next time, we might even invite some of you.

Carols by Candle Light

Miss Bossy Boots has unearthed Australia's next Idol - only she's better. Starring in this year's iconic Christmas event - Ms Andrea Le Sueur will be singing in the choir at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for Carols by Candle Light.

This event raises awareness and funds for Vision Australia - providing services for children with impaired vision. Whether you watch it on TV, listen to it on the radio or buy a ticket and be there in the flesh - support one of our most beloved staff members as she sings her heart out for the kids.

Her talent has been recognized far and beyond the MBB office, the German choir have already recruited her as their latest addition, and she will soon be robed in traditional German attire for all performances. Next year she is rumored to be the opening Yodelling act for Australian Idol 2008. Stay tuned.

Details:

Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight™ is also broadcast in Federation Square where you can take your picnic and enjoy pre-show entertainment before the live broadcast, which begins at 9.00pm.

Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight™ is held on Christmas Eve.

All proceeds raised from Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight™ go towards enabling children who are blind or have low vision to access and participate in every part of life they choose

These boots are made for flying..

Sydney, Brisbane. Where hasn't Miss Bossy Boots been? We plan to conquer the world. Or at least the three main capitals of Australia for starters. In true Andrea-style, I couldn't help but be a complete tourist and take photos of everything. If it looks like I'm having fun, I just did that for the camera...

The Langham Breakfast

It was a busy week in Melbourne with the Motorola Spring Fashion Week taking over. We were graced with the presence of our head of marketing gal - Kerry, who flew down to Melbourne for a few days. Stylist Philip Boon made an appearance at the Langham Hotel to talk about "What's Hot and What's Not" for Spring 2007. Sam really wanted to come along in her ugg boots, but was forbidden. Though the meal tasted like a dog's breakfast, Philip's appearance was more than pleasing, with generous fashion tips and self-demoting jokes about Colonel Sanders.

Sam's Mum Says:

BEE STING CURE (no joke)

No harm trying out this home remedy for a bee sting.

Bee/Hornet Cure:

A couple of weeks ago I was unfortunate to get stung by both a bee
and hornet while working in the garden. My arm swelled so off to the
doctor I went. The clinic gave me cream and an antihistamine.

Next day the swelling got progressively worse so off to my regular
doctor I went...infected arm needed an antibiotic.

** The interesting thing is what the Doctor told me...

"Next time you get stung put a penny on the bite for 15 minutes."

That night my niece got stung by two bees. When she came over to swim
I looked at the bite and it had already started to swell. So off I
went to get my money and taped a penny to her arm for 15 minutes.
Next morning, there was no sign of a bite. We were very surprised
but figured perhaps she just wasn't allergic to the sting.

Then guess what? I got stung again by a hornet twice on my left hand.
I was distressed thinking I would have to go to the doctor for yet
more antibiotics.

I promptly went into the house, got my money out and taped two
pennies to my bites, then sat and sulked for 15 minutes. The penny
took the string out of the bite immediately. I still wasn't sure what
was going to happen.

In the meantime the hornets were attacking my niece and she got stung
on the thumb. Out came another penny. The next morning I could only
see a micro spot where I had been stung...no redness, no swelling. I
went to see my niece and hers was the same. I couldn't even see where
she got stung!

The Doctor said that somehow the copper in the penny counteracts the
bite. I would never have believed it. But it DEFINITELY WORKED !

So remember this little bit of wisdom, keep a stock of pennies on
hand at school and at home and pass this on.

Bye Bye Boadle

It started with a few cups of tea, then a big lunch of Grill'd burgers, slowed down with girly cup cakes and finished with a few more cups of tea. Boadle will be sorely missed.

Oh, Andrea got a Lavender flavoured cup cake, and really didn't like it. Apparently it tasted like soap.

Vespa Boys

Our beloved fashion photographer Christian Blanchard, and newbie 'pet-of-the-office' Dean found a better way to get to their meeting in the city. Why drive when you can scoot? That’s the beauty of Miss Bossy Boots.. we always find new ways to do things, get to places and amuse ourselves. Sam was very disappointed when she learnt that she wasn't allowed on the bike, and that Dean was the bike-bitch of the day.

Dear God:

Fillies and Colts

Miss Bossy Boots was on location yesterday, at the Moonee Valley Racecourse for an upcoming spring campaign. On the field were the clients from GPT, creative director Scott Hignett from the Belong Group, and of course - half of the Miss Bossy Boots crew. Fashion photographer Christian Blanchard and his dutiful assistants Mary and Chris were at the race course bright and early for a 5:15am call time. Dean and Sam happily accepted an offer to become extras, little did they know that they might lose a few toes to frostbite in the process. Producer and big boss Veronica had to deal with the shy sun, men dismantling the racecourse mid-shoot and serving up a few beers.. we thought she did a mighty fine job.

Boadle breaks the bad news.

Our much beloved production and photographic assistant Chris Boadle has broken the news to the team at Miss Bossy Boots that he will be leaving for the rat-race-of-a city - SYDNEY. Though we will miss his thoughtful political stances and whistling sound effects, we're quite sure he'll be back. The only person who won't miss him is Sam. God it's good to be the creator of this fine thing.
